Since 1839, L'Epée has explored the boundaries of mechanical horology. What began with the production of music boxes and watch components grew into an exceptional Swiss manufacture, today the only one in the country fully specialised in high-end clocks.

02 — Mechanical sculptures

Objects that rarely tell the time alone

Yet a creation by L'Epée 1839 rarely tells the time alone. These are mechanical sculptures made to inspire wonder. Robots, spaceships, aircraft and other unexpected objects are brought to life by intricate mechanical movements.

Form and function are deliberately interwoven: the mechanism is not concealed, but often forms the beating heart of the design.

03 — Haute horlogerie

Playful creativity, serious craftsmanship

Achter die speelse creativiteit schuilt serieuze haute horlogerie. De uurwerken worden in eigen huis ontworpen en vervaardigd, met dezelfde aandacht voor mechaniek en verfijnde afwerking die je van de hoogste Zwitserse horlogerie verwacht. Sommige creaties omvatten honderden — of zelfs meer dan duizend — componenten en combineren traditionele technieken met bijzonder complexe mechanische functies. Zo telt de spectaculaire Albatross, een samenwerking met MB&F, maar liefst 1.520 onderdelen.

It is precisely this freedom that makes L'Epée 1839 unique. The house uses nearly two centuries of watchmaking knowledge not to reproduce the past, but to create objects you would not expect. Here, time becomes technique, design, movement and imagination in one.
